Local Leisure Charters

1. Are food and drinks included?

No, food and drinks are not included in our charter rates, unless otherwise stated. But we do have a 168-can ice cooler, a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave if you want to prepare food on board or bring a chef along!

Alternatively, you may want to check out our menus available as an add-on option!

2. Are there any corkage FEES for bringing our own food and drinks?

Of course not! We encourage all our guests to bring their own favourite food and drinks, so we do not charge any fees for that.

3. Can I bring my pets on board?

We're sorry, but no. Pets are not allowed on board.

4. ARE your yachtS wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, we regret that our yachts are not wheelchair accessible.

5. Can I smoke on board?

For safety reasons, smoking is not allowed on board a charter yacht. However, we understand a typical 4-hour yacht charter is a really long time, and if you really need a smoke during the charter, please do so only at the designated area at the stern, and dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly.

6. Can I play my own music on board?

Yes, of course! We have portable Bluetooth speakers. So, go ahead, pair your smartphones or iPads!

7. Can I shower on board?

Yes, we do provide a cabin toilet with shower facilities so you may wash up after splashing in the sea! Our maximum water storage capacity is 600 litres though, so we do seek your cooperation in saving water while on board. Keep your showers short and quick, please!

8. What if it rains?

1.5 hours prior to the charter, the captain will assess the weather and advise the next course of action. In case of light rain, the charter will proceed. The deposit may be forfeited should you decide to postpone the charter. In case of heavy rain or thunderstorm, we may delay or postpone the charter, subject to availability but no refunds will be provided. Once the yacht has set off from the marina, no changes can be made.

9. I have been to Lazarus Beach a few times before, can I go somewhere else this time?

Sure! Please feel free to let us know where you'd like to venture to, and we'll gladly take you there (as long as time and regulations permit).

10. Do I need to tip the crew?

We do not charge any service charge, so if you feel that our team has exceeded your expectations of excellent service for you and all your guests, a gratuity will always be most appreciated! Our crew work very hard under rain or shine to ensure a safe, smooth and memorable experience for all guests on board, so any token of appreciation will go a long way in affirming our efforts and encouraging us to do even better. Please feel free to pass it to them directly.

Booking / Payment

1. I am not sure how many guests can make it for my yacht party yet, how should I submit the booking?

No worries! Please provide an estimate when submitting your booking first. The number of guests can then be confirmed closer to the charter date. Do note that additional guests are allowed only if payment for these guests are submitted prior to the charter. Also, should any guests be unable to make it, no refund will be provided. They may, however, invite someone else in their place.

2. Is a child/baby considered as a passenger?

Yes. Every person, no matter what age, is considered as a passenger.

3. How far in advance should I make a booking?

To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book your yacht charter as far in advance as possible, especially if you are considering weekends. Please note that bookings are made on first come first serve basis, and a booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a S$500 deposit.

4. Are there any additional charges for Public Holidays or Eves of Public Holidays?

No, there are no additional charges! Yay! However, do note that Charters on Public Holidays or Eves of Public Holidays are considered Weekend rates.

5. How do I make payment?

Payment can be made via:

  1. i-Banking transfer to our DBS Current Account 003-943000-0 (Ximula Adventures Pte Ltd); or

  3. Paypal to ximulasail@gmail.com

We are working on providing other modes of payment, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused in the meantime. We thank you for your patience.

6. Are there any charges if I cancel?

For cancellations made with a minimum of 1 month’s notice, a full refund less the $500 deposit will be provided. However, for cancellations made with less than 1 month’s notice, no refund will be provided.

7. May I reschedule?

Rescheduling is only allowed at least 1 month before the original charter date and is subject to availability. Otherwise, the booking will be considered cancelled.

Packing List

1. What should I bring along?

For Leisure Yacht Charters, pack like you are going for a 1-day beach getaway! There will definitely be sun, sand and sea, so be well prepared with the following 7 essential items:

  • Sunscreen

  • Swimsuit

  • Towel

  • Change of clothes and undergarments

  • Sunglasses

  • Camera

  • Food & Drinks

Other optional items:

  • Hat / Cap / Scarf

  • Waterproof bag (if you'd like to bring along your camera or other items to the beach / island

  • Toiletries

  • Book / Playing cards / other forms of entertainment

3. Should I bring my own utensils, plates and wine glasses?

Disposable utensils, plates and cups are available on board. We also have plastic wine glasses, so you can keep your fragile glasses at home!

We also have a 168-can ice cooler and a fully equipped galley with a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave.

4. Do I need to bring ice?

For all our yacht charters, we provide 18kg of ice in our ice cooler for chilling drinks, so you don't have to lug packs of ice over! However, if you require ice for mixing, please bring extra packs on your own.

5. Do I need to bring my passport?

Our Leisure Charters are all within Singapore waters, so you do not need to bring your passport.

Passports are only required for extended charters outside of Singapore waters, such as to Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand. In such cases, we will certainly drop you a reminder to bring your passport.

Sailing Holidays / Overseas Charters

1. will there be a captain/skipper and crew?

Yes, for each overseas yacht charter, a licensed skipper and at least 1 crew will be on board to ensure you and your guests have a smooth-sailing journey and enjoyable adventure.

2. How many cabins do you have?

Each yacht has 3 cabins - 1 master cabin with ensuite head (toilet) on the starboard side, and 2 guest cabins and 1 common head on the port side. Each cabin has a queen-sized bed. Hence, each yacht can sleep 6 guests comfortably.

3. Can I have more than 6 guests?

Unfortunately, we only have 3 cabins that sleep a total of 6 guests. We do not recommend having more than 6 guests even if the additional guests are willing to sleep on deck, as there may be chance of rain during the night, and more than 6 guests will feel overcrowded on board.

4. Are meals and drinks included?

Yes, simple meals, snacks, soft drinks and bottled water are included in the charter. Meals are prepared by our crew, and are usually local, home-cooked fare that is nutritious and wholesome. If you have any special requests or dietary restrictions, please let us know early so that we can work something out.

Alternatively, you may also wish to top up for an Executive Chef on board to opt for premium meals, or if you’d like to customise your own menu. The cost depends on your requirements and preferences, and a quote will be provided after discussion.

5. Can we prepare our own meals?

Yes sure, please feel free to prepare your own meals if you wish, but do note that this will not reduce the cost of the charter.

6. How about alcohol? Can we bring our own alcohol, and will there be additional corkage fees?

Alcohol is not included in the charter. Please feel free to bring your own alcohol, we do not charge any corkage fees for that. Alternatively, if you’d like to save yourself the hassle, you may check out our Alcohol Packages.

7. Can I bring my pets on board?

We're sorry, pets are not allowed on board for sailing holidays.

8. Is your yacht wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, we regret that our yacht is not wheelchair accessible.

9. Can I choose a destination not listed on your website / plan my own itinerary?

Sure! Please feel free to let us know where you'd like to venture to, and we'll love to explore a new destination with you. However, as your safety is our responsibility and top-most priority, we will need to sit down and discuss the itinerary and expectations with you and your guests before proceeding with the charter. As much as we do our best to prepare for the charter, do note that there are risks involved in new, unfamiliar destinations - time during the journey will be spent on finding a safe spot to anchor at night, unfamiliarity with the destination's regulations, etc.

We highly recommend our listed destinations, as these are destinations we've visited before and completed a recce of the best islands to visit and what we can do over there, the most beautiful spots to snorkel/dive, the best and safest way to get there, local contacts, etc. These itineraries are also carefully curated to ensure you and your guests have the most enjoyable experience on board.

10. Do I need to tip the crew?

If you feel that our team has exceeded your expectations of excellent service for you and all your guests, a gratuity will always be most appreciated! Our crew work very hard under rain or shine to ensure a safe, smooth and memorable experience for all guests on board, so any token of appreciation will go a long way in affirming our efforts and encouraging us to do even better.

Booking / Payment

1. How far in advance should I make a booking?

To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book as far in advance as possible, especially if your dates include weekends. Please note that bookings are made on first come first serve basis, and a booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit. Subsequently, the balance is required at least 1 month prior to departure.

2. how should I submit the booking?

Please submit your request on our Book Now page, or drop us an email at hello@ximulasail.com with your preferred date and itinerary, and we'll follow up with you from there. Again, please note that bookings are made on first come first serve basis, and a booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit. Subsequently, the balance is required at least 1 month prior to departure.

3. How do I make payment?

Payment can be made via:

  1. i-Banking transfer to our DBS Current Account 003-943000-0 (Ximula Adventures Pte Ltd); or

  2. PayNow to UEN# 201623190Z; or

  3. Paypal to ximulasail@gmail.com

We are working on providing other modes of payment, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused in the meantime. We thank you for your patience.

4. Are there any charges if I cancel?

For cancellations made with a minimum of 3 month’s notice, a full refund can be provided.

For cancellations made with a minimum of 1 month's notice, a refund of only 50% of the charter cost will be provided. This is because we would have rejected other requests for the same dates that you have requested.

For cancellations made with less than 1 month’s notice, no refund will be provided, as we would have begun our preparations for the charter.

5. May I reschedule?

Rescheduling is only allowed at least 1 month before the original charter date and is subject to availability. Otherwise, the booking will be considered cancelled.

Staying On Board

1. What if we meet a thunderstorm?

No worries, we've been through thunderstorms before, our skipper will decide on the best course and advise everyone on what to do. We either sail through them (sometimes it's safer to continue sailing), or if possible, find a safe anchoring spot and wait for the storm to pass.

2. how's the water supply?

We have a water tank that holds up to 600 litres on board, and a watermaker that converts seawater into freshwater. Although we have a watermaker, we will be practising water conservation as much as possible (you never know what can fail you in the middle of the sea). We seek your cooperation in conserving water while showering, washing dishes, etc., and limiting your washing of laundry to the minimum.

3. HOW ABOUT ELECTRICITY?

For electricity, the main charging points are 12V USB ports (ok for phones, tablets, cameras). For 240V charging (e.g. laptops), we will need to switch on our generator, which will usually be only during meal preparation or to switch on the air-conditioning to cool the boat before we sleep.

4. Is there air-conditioning?

Most of the times, no. As the generator needs to be switched on to enable the air-conditioning, we minimize its use as much as possible. While sailing, the sea breeze is amazingly refreshing, so stay on deck and embrace it.

5. Is there wifi on board?

Nope. Sailing is a time when you disconnect with devices so that you can reconnect with yourself, your fellow sailors, and nature, which we hardly do nowadays. So take this time to appreciate the simplicity of life and wonders of nature, and you'll be surprised at how much the world has to offer without wifi.

6. What if we need to call someone in case of an emergency?

Don't worry, we've got it covered. We have a satellite phone (cost per use) on board, which is strictly only for emergencies.

1. What should I pack?

  2. Currency of destination

Other Tips

What if I have motion sickness?

Fret not! Remember to bring along seasick pills (which may cause drowsiness) or Sea Bands (elastic wristbands that use acupressure to alleviate nausea), both of which are available at most Guardian/Watsons outlets. Anything ginger (ginger tea, ginger ale, ginger capsules) works too!

We provide Blackmores Travel Calm Ginger pills, which have proven to be the most effective medicine to alleviate nausea and reduce seasickness amongst our guests. Their non-drowsy formula allows all our guests to enjoy the yacht trip without any excuse or issues.

While on board, try to avoid:

  • Going indoors (into the cabins or saloon). Instead, keep yourself occupied on deck. The breeze and fresh air really helps!

  • Reading, staring at your phone/iPad for prolonged periods, or other near-focus observation.

  • Alcohol

  • Heavy, greasy or spicy foods

Once the yacht is safely anchored, jump into the sea and have a swim. Take a walk along the beach or on land. It works, we promise!

If all else fails, grab a plastic bag, vomit it all out then have a sip of warm water. You will instantly feel much better afterwards.

Also, based on personal experience, join us on board more often and get your body accustomed to the motion, because practice makes perfect, it's true!
